The School Store
The Tantasqua Regional High School Store offers a wide variety of clothing and school related memorabilia. The School Store has two: the first is to encourage school spirit by providing imprinted garments and memorabilia to students at a low cost. The second is to supplement the activities of the “Student Recognition Program.” Through the completion of these goals, we believe that the store activity makes a positive contribution to our school community.
The store is staffed by both student interns and student volunteers. You can visit the store kiosk at most home football games in the fall, and the store itself during most school events, and during our school lunch periods 10:35 AM to 12:30 PM each day. The store inventory is available for view on line, simply click on the School Store link from the Tantasqua Regional High School home page. Contact information is available.
We encourage alumni groups to contact the store staff to discuss your reunion needs. The School Store can place group orders for the garments of your choice. Also, we have items suitable for door prizes and gift baskets.
The Tantasqua Regional High School "Student Recognition Program" was introduced at the high school in 1999. The Student Recognition Program acknowledges the academic and civic achievement of our students. Parents and students are welcomed to join the advisory committee to aid in the planning, preparation, and implemention of program activities. The goals of the program aim to celebrate in novel ways student academic and civic achievement at a variety of levels.
The "Student of the Quarter" activity honors approximately 100 students per term for their achievement. Broad selection criteria include academic effort, class attendance, participation, academic progress, and citizenship. Each faculty member selects one student to recognize and that student with his or her parents is invited to a morning breakfast to celebrate their accomplishment.
The "Principals Luncheon" honors those individuals earning straight "A's" or highest honors each quarter. Students are treated to a special lunch with the school administration. Students receive a written letter of acknowledgement highlighting their achievement.
"Senior of the Month" is an award given to seniors who demonstrate outstanding character through their leadership and citizenship at school. These students receive a letter of commendation and special parking privileges as an added reward for their efforts. The Sturbridge Rotary Club also honors these students at a dinner held in June each year.
The "Academic Awards Banquet" is a yearly activity celebrating the achievement of those individuals who have consistently made the honor roll and those individuals who receive special awards for academic excellence. Students are honored at a banquet dinner with parents, teachers, and school and community leaders. This is the culminating event of the school year held in early June.
"Birthdays of the Months" recognizes every member of the student body. In a large school, it is easy for students to become "lost in the crowd." By acknowledging each student's birthday with cake and ice cream, we are able to bring a more personal touch to our school program. We are committed to the academic and emotional development of our students.
"Honor Roll Posters" are displayed in several locations throughout the school. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students and believe that it is important to acknowledge the effort and motivation required to attain honor roll status.
"Perfect Attendance" is recognized at the end of each semester. Students' names are prominently displayed in the school. We believe that consistent, daily attendance to school is critical in the academic growth of the individual. By coming to school consistently, students gain the full benefit of the high school experience.
All proceeds of sales from School Store sales are used to support the "Student Recognition Program." The activities of the program are supported by donations from local businesses and private donations and a modest budget line item.
