The LEAP Program stands for Literacy for Everyone's Advancement Program. The program was begun in the Fall of 2005. It involves 10 staff members. Included in this staff are 3 first grade teachers, 3 educational assistants, 2 reading specialists, a math and reading teacher, and a special education teacher. Students are put into small groups of between 4-6 students. Students are grouped using the results of DRA, kindergarten test scores, and parts of the Observation Survey assessment. |

Each morning from 8:45-9:30 small groups meet with their instuctor for 45 minutes of guided reading instruction.. LEAP instructors meet once a month to review running record results and this is when students are moved between groups if it is appropriate. |
